TV Ants Guide!

SOFTWARE NEEDED TO WATCH IPL!
TVAnts
Background Info
TVAnts is a P2P application set up by a group of students from Zhejiang University. It contains more channels than ANY player - around 500-600 on a good day! UK users may find it quite hard to use due to IP blocking, but the use of proxy servers (fully explained later in this essay) will sort out that.
Downloading TVAnts
Click on this link to Download the Latest version of TVAnts. The link will be updated when new versions are released:

Setup is quite simple, follow the instructions and TVAnts will be up and ready.
Servers and Proxies
To be able to recieve more channels via TVAnts you should add the servers (sometimes known as Trackers) listed below:

Now to add these Servers what you need to do is...
1. Open TVAnts2. Click the Servers tab3. Click Add (at the bottom)4. Where it says Address type in the Server (the other fields are as unnecessary as a 39th game in the Premier League)5. Click OK6. Repeat for other servers

Using the 'Add' and 'Delete' buttons at the bottom (Figures 1.2, 1.3) you can modify the servers list (Figure 2). (Figure 2).fanshoptv.no-ip.info is one server that has worked well for us.

Also if you're in the UK, you WILL need a proxy because UK IP's are blocked for Sports Channels. You will need a SOCKS5 proxy from any country except the UK. This is a useful site where you can get one (change your proxy regularly if you have to because they do stop working from time to time)

To add your Proxy to TVAnts:1. Open TVAnts2. Click Tools, then Settings, then the Proxy Tab3. Tick the top two boxes4. Click the ADD button (on the Settings window)5. Then...- Where it says Type, Select SOCKS5- For Host, insert the IP/Host address- For Port, insert the Port number- Then click Apply if needed, then OK6. Close TVAnts, and re-open it.
IF YOU LIVE OUTSIDE THE UK YOU DO NOT NEED A PROXY
Selecting a channel
Searching
1. Click the Search Tab2. Wait, then a list of channels appear. Double click a channel, and it will buffer in a separate window

3. If you have a specific channel in mind, type a channel name into the Keywords Bar then click Search TV. A list of matching channels should appear.

Selecting from channels already watched
1. Click the Channels Tab2. Click the channel you want3. Said channel will buffer in separate window

If you're given a Direct Link
Paste the link into the address bar on your browser. TVAnts and the window showing the channel will all open automatically
Playing in VLC
1. Let the TVAnts channel buffer2. Open VLC PLayer3. Open Network Stream4. Check HTTP/MMS and paste localhost:16900/4.asf into the adjacent address bar5. Click OK and it's good to go
FAQ's
I get ads and pop-ups when loading a channel?
- Load a channel using a Direct Link- Close the webplayer window when a channel is selected. Click the channels tab and then click the buffering channel a few minutes later. You'll then avoid the adverts.
Why are so many weird characters in the text?
TVAnts has channel names for lots of languages from around the world - you need to install Language Packs for that

Why wasnt the blog updated continuosly?

Why Harbhajan pulled a stunt according to me?

Take a look at the following scenario-

• IPL TRP was 6.8-7.9 before the slaps and suddenly jumps to 14-15 range after the incident!
• Shahrukh dances at inaugral days of IPL for KKR and slowly shows more on Panchivi Paas Se Tez Hain? more as it's TRP zoom ahead of IPL as critics praise the show!
• Advertising becomes less rampant and the overs break increases just befor incident matches.
• Mumbai Indians suddenly rise to their expectations.
• Lalchand Rajput laughs over incident and shockingly is not interrogated!
• Harbhajan intrestingly has emergency planned product endorsements as he takes a break from IPL.
• Sreesanth becomes a sympathy loaded figure!
• Inview ads start growing again after the incident as TRP increases.
• BCCI officials start making calculations of profits as tickets are still easily available at venues!
  Master blaster stays out of match during the incident and is seen in all other matches in the dug-out.
• Cameras record the incident on video but sources say it is not available to public. (I strongly doubt the footage presence)
• On lookers say nothing unusual happended while news show Sree crying and having a sympathy wave from team mates!
• Days after Sree and Bhajji say Indian slogan of Hum To Hai Bhai-Bhai Hoti Rahti Hai Ladai!

Now guys this is for you to decide wether the show was planned or just a reaction to the thriller drama!

Half the IPL over and Lalit Modi Smiles!

Now,that over half the IPL is over and revenue results clear Lalit Modi is busy smiling Rajasthan Royals win every match. Mr.Shahrukh Khan too has made his way out quite discreetly and sources say he will only appear after 3-4 more matches of KKR! Thus,we can say that IPL has made it's expense recovery uptil now and only profits are remaining to be explored now.
Actually IPL made a nice business proposal for these guys as the profit-cost ratio is quite astonishing. Imagine a chitfund wherein you cash in your expenses in 60 days wioth 100% profits, IPL is such a situation.I strongly believe that betting should be made legal in India as currently IPL is nothing but betting of the rich! News was there a few days back that Mallya sacked CEO of Royal Challengers and was furious over their run over series this shows us what actually IPL was for business houses. Personally, I still believe IPL would have been much better without the HUGE money flow that it saw. The money flow only increased competition amongst houses and not the teams it seems now. However recent spat and slap incident between Indian team-mates was shocking I still believe that it was a great stunt pulled off for publicity by the BCCI.
